In this video, I discuss the 9 most common mistakes to avoid when investing in Bitcoin (this is not investment advice, but just a reminder to myself):

1) Don't trade Bitcoin. I believe that "buy and hold" will work better than any trading strategy when it comes to Bitcoin

2) Don't try to pick a top in Bitcoin-- there is a chance that future halvings begin to get priced in early and Bitcoin's price shoots into the many hundreds of thousands sooner than is expected by Plan B's model.

3) If you think Bitcoin is going much higher, don't wait for a big pullback to buy. That pullback might never come, especially between now and December 2021, which is the most bullish part of the 4 year cycle.

4) Don't trade altcoins as a way of building up your trading account so that you can ultimately buy Bitcoin. Much better to just go straight to Bitcoin.

5) Don't buy Bitcoin and leave it on the exchange like Coinbase or Kraken, where it can be hacked or stolen. Much better to withdraw it and hold it on a hardware wallet like the Trezor or Cold Card.

6) Do not trade Bitcoin with leverage: do not use options, futures, or broker margin with Bitcoin. Bitcoin is too volatile to combine with leverage.

7) Don't buy GBTC. You won't control your own private keys, and you'll end up paying a 2% management fee every year.

8) Don't buy BTC using Robinhood. You won't control your private keys, you cannot withdraw the Bitcoin, but must instead sell in order to exit the position.

9) Don't try to earn interest income on your Bitcoin. If you do not maintain control of your private keys, your Bitcoin could be stolen from you. No interest rate is high enough to compensate for that.
